About My Community Magazines
Magazines published for local communities
My Community Magazines publish high-quality magazines within some of Cheshire’s most affluent towns and villages.
Our magazines are currently distributed in Poynton & Woodford, Bramhall, Wilmslow & Alderley Edge and Cheadle Hulme. They combine local news and stories, political commentary, local issues, events, clubs and groups, and everything else that's happening in the area.
Written to be read cover to cover
Unlike some other community magazines, our main aim is not simply filling pages with adverts. We believe a successful community magazine has to be something people actually want to pick up and read.
Every issue of My Community Magazines is built around a simple principle: a community magazine should put the community first. That’s why we aim for a 50/50 balance between editorial and advertising.
It is this balance that ensures our advertisers the best opportunity to get a good return on their investment; because our readers are mentally engaged my quality editorial, and therefore equally engaged to receive advertising messages.

Connecting local people and local businesses
There are some brilliant independent businesses operating across Cheshire, often just a few streets away from the customers looking for their services; our job is to help connect them.
From established local companies to independent shops, tradespeople, restaurants and professional services, My Community Magazines gives businesses a highly targeted way to reach potential customers in the communities that matter to them.
Rather than a blunderbuss approach, advertisers can choose a specific magazine or a combination that best matches their target market.
Landing on the mat
In an increasingly digital world, there is still something very powerful about putting a hard copy publication directly through the letterbox, and into someone's hands.
Our magazines are delivered door-to-door across carefully selected residential areas, putting local businesses directly into thousands of homes.
There are no social media algorithms deciding who sees the magazine, and no need for someone to search for a particular business first. Each issue simply arrives through the letterbox, ready to be discovered.
Printed matter also gives readers the flexibility to return to an advert or article at a later date; whether they're looking for a local trades-person, planning some home improvements, choosing somewhere to eat or finding out what's happening nearby.

Four magazines, for four distinct communities
Although all our publications share the same design standards and editorial philosophy, each one is created for its own local community.
My Poynton & Woodford
Poynton has a unique residential profile: highly affluent, with an over-65 segment 12% higher than the national average, giving it immense purchasing power. Neighbouring Woodford is equally affluent, with a mix of well-established and high-income new-build housing, with an average value of c.£700k.
My Bramhall
Leafy Bramhall; well-established suburban properties with detached houses averaging c.£767k, and semis c.£540k. Surrounded by the green spaces of The Carrs, Happy Valley and Bramhall Golf Club, for many, it is a delightful and privileged haven.
My Wilmslow & Alderley Edge
Almost adjoining, these two communities have quite different profiles. Wilmslow was built on the old money of the Cotton Barons, and is now a thriving, wealthy small town, and for many a shopping venue. Alderley Edge nestles beneath the mystical Edge, and is now the home of the new money, footballers and the super rich; fine dining and facials.
My Cheadle Hulme
Officially part of Greater Manchester, but 100% of the population would agree that they live in Cheshire (historical fact). It is renowned for its Independent school, which draws pupils from the wider area. Its growth came about with the railway creating a commuter network with Manchester and Stockport. Cheadle village is also affluent but without the same cachet as its more racy neighbour!

Supporting the communities we serve
Our community magazine provides a clarion for local clubs, groups, charities, events and voluntary organisations, informing residents what's happening and how they can get involved.
From a local event or fundraising appeal to a club looking for new members, we want our magazines to provide a platform for the people and organisations that help make each community what it is.
If you have a local story, event, club or community initiative you think we should know about, we'd love to hear from you.
Local publishing with a purpose
My Community Magazines exists to do two things well: create magazines that local people want to read, and to give local businesses an effective way to reach them.
We believe those two things go hand in hand. Good editorial creates a more readable magazine. A more readable magazine attracts more attention. And that creates a better environment for the businesses advertising within it.
That's the rationale behind every issue we publish - The Gold Standard.
